About our vision and us
WE ARE PRODUCERS
As producers ourselves, we see first-hand the hard work that is put into growing high-quality coffee. The input throughout the year, uncertainty due to weather conditions, volatility of the market all play a role in the decision-making at the farm. We believe the hard work of the farmers has to be recognized along the supply chain, and the best way to do that is by…

DEVELOPING RELATIONSHIPS
Business thrives through long-term partnerships. Once all the actors in the supply chain know and trust each other, it’s easier to understand the challenges of each harvest. Producers can focus on growing the best coffee possible, knowing there is a buyer waiting for it. Roasters, on the other hand, have the opportunity of securing a certain lot in advance. Which brings us to…
TRACEABILITY
Knowing where your coffee comes from is important. But it is also important to know where the coffee goes to. As producers, we like to know where our coffee ends up and how it is handled. Fairness works both ways, and so does traceability. By developing personal relationships, the roasters can always know how their coffee was produced, and the producers can be at ease knowing their hard work is appreciated.
And a few words about us
How Andressa Got Started
I’m Andressa, and I was born and raised in the town of Patrocinio, the municipality with the biggest arabica output in Brazil – and therefore probably also in the world. Surrounded by coffee fields, I learned early on what makes good coffee.
My grandfather has been growing coffee for over sixty years, so I could say it’s in my blood. My family purchased a farm in 2016. Initially, we have been growing only commodity coffee, but lately, also with the help of Žiga, we shifted towards producing specialty coffee.
Otherwise I’m an architect, a profession I have admired since I was a child. Although juggling between agriculture and architecture can be difficult, they oftentimes also overlap, especially since both of them require a double approach, both creative and scientific.
How Žiga Got Started
Well, my story doesn’t begin romantically in the middle of the coffee fields, but it was romance that brought me there.
After tasting specialty coffee in Patrocinio, I decided this is something I want to be involved in. First, I was introduced to Grossi family and I began my coffee adventure by importing and roasting their coffee in Ljubljana. After experimenting with roasting, production and import, I realized the latter two interest me the most. This is how Tukan Coffee was born, after meeting some more producers whose coffee I’m most honored to represent in Europe.
My educational background lies in Translation Studies, an area of expertise that helped me a lot to get accustomed to Brazil. Speaking Portuguese with the producers among the endless coffee rows is definitely an amazaing feeling, and an indispensable tool in developing relationships.
